Kylie and Rio – Coastal Equine Ranch Horse and Rider Session

A trip to the lovely Coastal Equine Ranch is always a good time. I met Kylie about a year ago when I shot her and Rio in the late Spring. I was instantly drawn to the duo due to Kylie’s kindness and Rio’s gorgeous dapples. They have been together for over 8 years. The sweet eyed gelding won her heart instantly and the two have been together ever since including a move to college.

Rio also takes part in Dana Anderson’s Lesson program to help other riders move up through the ranks. Dana is a show jumping trainer at Coastal Equine Ranch in San Luis Obispo. As a result, everyone is so blessed to have Rio to learn from.

I was thrilled when Kylie said she wanted to do another session with Rio. Visiting with past clients is truly a blessing. Kylie recently purchased a truck on her own steam. Therefore, she wanted to feature both of her “big loves” in her shoot. We went with a super casual barn look first. Then Kylie changed in to a pretty pink dress for the second half of our session. Afterwards, we left the barn area and headed to a field for some stunning bareback riding.

True to his nature, Rio was honest and willing. He is so in tune with Kylie. You can literally see the joy in both their faces when they are together. I know these two have many more years ahead together and I am just grateful I get to see it happen. Rio will continue to be used in lessons with Dana Anderson making little girls in San Luis Obispo fall in love with him… and horses in general.
