Horse and Rider || Shannon and Wick
For this Morro Bay Equine Photography Session, I headed up highway one to Shannon’s family ranch. Horse and Rider sessions are my very favorite. I love the bond between a horse and its person. Therefore, its a relationship I understand very well. I’ve been lucky enough to experience this type of love in my own life many times over. Needless to say, I consider myself very very lucky with the horses that life has allowed me to have.
Shannon and Wick have such a great connection. I love seeing a horse completely relaxed with its person. Wick was calm and steady and popped his poses like he was a Breyer horse model. He did everything we asked with such grace with his attention always on whatever Shannon was asking of him.
For our Morro Bay Equine Photography session, we hung out in a field by the barn mostly. Then walked on some of the ranch roads and hillsides. Morro Bay has stunning views but it has fog pretty often as well. Needless to say, the fog rolled in for our session. As a result, we had quintessential coastal feel. However , I would be remiss to say I didn’t like fog. Afterall, I grew up in San Francisco so I seem to have a penchant for fog.
You make recognize Shannon from another session we had together. I recently shot Shannon and her fiance Devin at the beach in Morro Bay. You can find that session here. I am so excited for their wedding later this year at Pepper Tree Ranch in San Luis Obispo. It’s going to be a blast and I can’t wait!
Repeat clients are my absolute favorite. I am always honored to be trusted to document the important moments in life. When I get to be with a person or family for multiple occasions, I am always touched and I do not take it lightly. So thank you for your trust in my Shannon!
