Gilroy, California – Sisters Equine Session

I met Jordan Schween when I was in Scottsdale, Arizona last year shooting some clients for Lindsey James Show Clothing at the Arizona Sun Circuit. Jordan ended up helping me on a few sessions for her friends performing the ever important task of getting ears up. We couldn’t shoot together at the show due to time constraints and weather so I was so happy when her mother contacted me a few months later about traveling up to Gilroy, Ca to shoot both her daughters and their horses. Jordan shows her horse Good Cuz Im Lazy in All Around Youth Events and Isabel shows her horse The Bourne Legacy in All Around Youth Events as well under the guidance of Jenn and Justin Wheeler of Wheeler Performance Horses in Hollister, Ca. In true “horse show mom” fashion, Jordan and Isabel’s mom, Tammy, was there to help shine tack and fluff hair (both equine and human) and the whole session was an absolute blast working with these girls and their beloved horses. We picked a few spots around the barn before we ventured down into the dry river bed right at sunset. If you know me, you know how I adore a good golden hour and this one was no exception. This session also furthered my belief that Pleasure Horses are an absolute joy to photograph as they are sooooo well behaved and are total pro’s at being “set up” to stand square. We did some traditional black background portraits as well as a Horse and Rider session for each girl individually as well as together because #sisters. Jordan is currently going into her Junior year in high school while Isabel heads to college in the Fall. I loved my time with these sweet sisters and their stunning horses.
