With Britt and Louie in Santa Barbara

This Equine Beach Photo Shoot with Britt and Louie in Santa Barbara was simply perfect. Where there’s perfect light, there’s a happy photographer. Obviously a perfectly partnered horse and rider pair are the cherry on top. While Louie and Britt used to do Three-Day Eventing together, they keep it in the dressage court these days. Naturally, Louie is quite the fancy prancer. Even on the beach!

While we were setting out to shoot a few images for Celeris UK, I was ecstatic when Britt brought a portion of her wedding dress to the session. Moreover her dress was made by Trash Couture designer extraordinaire Ann Wiberg and is stunning. Obviously I’ve shot for Celeris UK a few times with Milton Menasco and love working for the company. However it’s so neat to see the style of boots each rider chooses based off their personal aesthetic.

While Milton Menasco’s collection tends to stick to neutral colors, Britt has a blue pair as well as the soft grey suede pair that we shot together. However, let me tell you how stressful shooting handmade grey suede tall boots on the beach is. VERY. Naturally, we took a few images and set them aside so Britt and Louie could go running through the waves. I mean, we were doing an Equine Beach Photo Shoot after all.

Additionally, we had the amazing video talent of Elena. Otherwise known as LanyBird on The Gram. Elena made an awesome video that she titled “Beach Ride in Heaven” because that’s exactly what it looked like. You can watch the video here on my YouTube Channel.
