Santa Barbara Equine Session

with Elena and Midnight at Loon Point Beach

This Santa Barbara Equine Session with Elena and Midnight at Loon Point Beach was epic! Especially since Elena and Midnight work for Los Padres Outfitters. Naturally, they ride at Loon Point Beach often. However, we made this session special since it was for fun and not a part of Elena’s work.

Generally, Los Padres Outfitters runs guided trail rides through the hills of Santa Barbara. However, beach rides are also available at Loon Point Beach. I met Elena the new-fashioned way – through Instagram. Naturally, our mutual Horse Girl Energy made us fast friends. Not only is Elena a beautiful rider, she is also a talented videographer. Furthermore she made THIS video of the lovely Britt Sabbah. Therefore the only downside to this session was that she couldn’t model AND film it simultaneously. Obviously, this beachy California Equine Session was a dream.

Obviously, beach sessions hold their own set of challenges. Crashing waves, people strolling and running dogs can all cause distractions. Therefore it was a delight to work with Midnight since he comes to the beach often. Additionally, I always like to check with clients on the comfort level of their horses if we will be hauling to a location. Clearly, locations have a big impact on how your session will turn out. Conversely, the comfort level of your horse is paramount. Safety is always the number one priority in any Equine Photography session!

Elena and I decided to keep the styling natural and simple. A black bikini, black cut off shorts and of course Midnight. Obviously, I’m thrilled with our results.
