JPS Six Guns || Consigned by Shelly Pascoe and Fuller Ranch
I was so excited for the Art of the Cowgirl Sale Horse session so I could chat up an acquaintance from college and learn all about the sale. JPS Six Guns or “Guns” as he is known was raised by the Fuller Ranch in foothills of Woodlake, California.
Guns helps manage the cattle on the Fuller Ranch as one of the main mounts. In addition to ranch work, Guns is capable in the cow horse and roping events. Therefore he’s certainly one to watch in this years Art of the Cowgirl Elite Ranch Horse Sale.
Guns will be ridden through the sale by Shelly Pascoe. Shelly is someone I met in college and actually knew my husband long before that. My husband used to work at Shelly’s father’s pack station in college. In the summers he lead people though the beautiful Eastern Sierras.
Here’s a complete side story… It was at Frontier Pack Train that my husband met a chestnut mustang with four white socks. Shelly was a little girl at the time and begged her dad to buy him for the pack station. He did and the gelding ended up being my husband’s main mount for years after buying him from Frontier. When it came time to retire “The Mustang”, he went to a fellow Cal Poly alumni that wanted to get back into riding.
Fast forward a few years and that same Mustang is now the Cal Poly Mustang mascot and runs across the football field after green and gold touchdowns. Which is so frickin cool if you ask me and just shows you that the horse world really is a small world after all. Especially if you’re talking about the Cal Poly horse world.
