As a California Equine Photographer I BELIEVE CAPTURING IMAGES IS A FORM OF STORY TELLING.

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE STORIES of horses and the people that love them.

Stallion Black Background Portraits

NRCHA Stallion – Scooter Kat portrait session

I had a blast photographing Stallion Black Background Portraits for NRCHA Stallion, Scooter Kat. Scooter Kat resides at Justin Wright Performance Horses’ training barn in Santa Maria, California. This stallion has a true “stallion presence” and was a complete gentlemen. I love seeing a stallion in a relaxed setting and as a result, they just seem to know that everyone is there to see them.

Scooter Kat is a son of National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Open World Champion Kit Kat Sugar. He’s out of Scooters Daisy Dukes, a mare by Dual Smart Rey that earned $93,217 in the cutting pen. He’s the first earner on his dam’s Equi-Stat produce record. This guy was extremely laid back for our session together and was turned out beautifully by Gloria Brigitano.

Since Scooter was behaving like a perfect gentlemen, we were able to finish this session with time to spare. As a result we ended up with lovely equine portraits as well as conformation shots to showcase this awesome stud.

The thing I love about Stallion Black Background portraits is that they are so timeless and classy. They work great for promoting a stud in several ways. The portraits provide great social media content for a stallion page. They also work well as imagery to build ads off of. Additionally, they make a great piece of art for the stallion owner to hang in their home. Personally, I love a timeless Black Background Equine portrait hanging over my mantle, but that could just be the “crazy horse girl” in me.

Scooter Kat has been kicking butt and taking names lately in the show pen and will continue to be shown by Justin Wright in the upcoming year.

Adding to the stallion’s busy schedule is a 2020 breeding season at Santa Lucia Farm in Santa Ynez, California. Santa Lucia Farm stands some of the best stallions in the business and are a dream to work with. If you’re thinking of breeding to Scooter Kat this year, contact the farm for breeding info and a contract. Enjoy a few of the images of our easy breezy stallion black background portrait session with Scooter Kat!
