Alice and Teddy
I loved this Woodside Equestrian Photo Session with Alice and Teddy. Truth be told, I have followed them on Instagram FOREVER. As it happens, Teddy is a gorgeous Lusitano gelding. Therefore, he looks like an actual unicorn. Naturally, I’m more than intrigued. Has anyone seen the 1980’s movie called “Legend” with Tom Cruise? Consequently, Teddy looks like one of the unicorns from that film. To top it off, Alice is so fun and hilarious. Obviously, I had the best time at this session!
Since I grew up in SF and spent Summers in Woodside, I love the area. When I was a kid, we used to drive by the Horse Park at Woodside and I would just imagine what it looked like inside. As a result I was thrilled when I was 19 and got to help “jump judge” a 3-Day Event there. However, I was more thrilled to meet Alice and Teddy. The pair rides with Core Equestrian at the Horse Park and practice dressage.
Clearly I love someone with a good sense of humor. As it happens, Alice is hilarious. However, don’t forget deep. To sum up, my favorite kind of human. She loves Teddy and clearly has a deep connection with him. Undoubtedly, Teddy is a soulful horse (which I swear is a breed standard for Lusitano’s). However the connection Teddy and Alice share is special. Therefore, my job that day was to capture that intangible yet undeniable bond. No pressure right?
Let’s talk about Alice’s outfits. FIRE. She brought some options, which we went through prior to starting. We settled on a traditional yet understated dressage riding outfit featuring breeches by Free X Rein and boots by Celeris. You may remember Celeris from some commercial work I’ve done for the company. (Gorgeous bespoke riding boots make my heart go pitter patter). Then we moved on to a show-stopping skirt and top combo that is worthy of a red carpet. Finally, Alice donned a creamy white Ulla Johnson dress.
Obviously, this Woodside Equestrian Photo Session was a complete dream. A stunning duo with a soulful connection. An ethereal golden evening. Perfection.
