As a California Equine Photographer I BELIEVE CAPTURING IMAGES IS A FORM OF STORY TELLING.

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE STORIES of horses and the people that love them.

Whipin Wild Rags Product Shoot

Commercial Product Photography for the Western Industry

Check out some of my favorite images from my commercial product photography shoot with Whipin Wild Rags. I met Whipin Wild Rags through a model I’ve worked with in the past. Needless to say, it is so nice how tight knit the western industry is. Someone you know, knows someone else and so forth. Therefore, connections happen easily and naturally. I’m lucky to have met the lovely Trisha behind Whipin Wild Rags as well as her right hand woman Mallory.

Mallory set this shoot up as part of her Senior Project at Cal Poly, SLO. Her agenda was to stress the importance of quality product photography for a growing business. Obviously, I agree with her. When I first started out in photography I had no idea how critical product photography can be to a business because I was mostly centered around photographing people. As it turns out, I need certain types of photography to tell the story of my brand. Therefore it only makes sense that a product based brand would obviously need that as well.

I enjoy the commercial photography work that I do because I like hearing a brands story. In addition, I enjoy helping a small business see their dreams come to reality. I am thrilled when my images can help tell a story of a small company. Especially when its a woman owned company, like myself.

Since Quarantine was in full effect during our shoot, face masks were the name of the game. Luckily, Whipin has some cute ones for sale and we photographed those products for her as well.

Additionally, we got to shoot a few products for our friends at Kimes Ranch Jeans that complemented Trisha’s brand. Furthermore, we shot some content for Boutique 121 who happens to be a good friend of Trisha. Check out some of our favorite shots below as well as all over Trisha’s website! If how to tie a wild rag is confusing, be SURE to check out her site as she has some awesome tutorials!

Hey There!

I'm California Equine Photographer Elizabeth Hay. Call me Beth. If you love the smell of fresh hay, a clean horse, the sound of a nicker when you walk towards the stall, and you think dirty boots are better than clean — you're in the right place. Welcome to all the bloggy goodness.
