with Buck Wild Rags
This Western Wild Rags Photoshoot with Buck Wild Rags in Bakersfield, Ca showcased working cowboys and cowgirls in their element. Naturally when Sharon from Buck Wild Rags reached out and wanted an authentic western session, I was game. While I love that wild rags have become a western fashion statement and can be worn by all, I do appreciate the ranchy roots of the garment. Therefore this Western Wild Rags Photoshoot checked all the boxes.
Since Sharon’s daughter and son in law were in town, they made the perfect ranch models. Alongside their close friends from a neighboring ranch, we had a perfect set of people. Since wild rags are a part of western tradition, we decided to show them in their original intended element. Obviously I’ve done wild rag photo shoots with Sharon before. In fact you can see one here with the beautiful Paisley. Because we have previously shown them in a fashion sense, we decided that this shoot had to be different. Therefore we went for ranchy and punchy.
While we were shooting, the cowboys noticed a cow that needed doctoring for her eye. Naturally, they didn’t hesitate to get to work. Obviously, the roped her and doctored her eye and let her loose. Consequently, she was happy and healthy a few days later. Luckily, I was able to snap a few images of it. Ironically, the cows name was Beth. I tried not to read too much into that.
Clearly a great time was had by all on this Western Wild Rags photoshoot, even Beth the cow since her eye was fixed in the process. Check out some of our images below. To check out more commercial photography work by me, look here and here.
