Sierra and Nelson
I am obsessed with the color palette from this San Luis Obispo Equine Photography session. Since Sierra had recently dyed her hair a gorgeous rose gold – the Do’ was FRESH. Obviously the color went well with her skin tone and outfit selections. Additionally, her shiny bay boy accented everything perfectly. Luckily, we had a stunning Spring sunset evening. Which completed the dreamy rosie glow to the day. This San Luis Equine Photography sessions was one of my favorite from the year.
Sierra’s mom reached out to me a few months prior to our session together. Naturally we picked the time and place and discussed a few outfit options. I learned about Sierra and her wonderful horse Nelson. Nelson used to show in the Grand Prix arena all over the country, though I used to see him at the Paso Robles Horse Park cleaning house on the ribbon front. Truly, he was the most perfect gentlemen during our session. While I tend to be a mare lover, geldings like Nelson often pull at my heart. Moreover, he’s the deep and soulful type – in case you couldn’t tell by those big brown eyes. I always love my sessions at LOVE Farm in San Luis Obispo and the name of the farm never escapes me.
We ventured to areas of the LOVE Farm that Id never been to before and discovered the most beautiful light. Additionally, we featured some of the perfectly painted jumps as a nod to Sierra and Nelson’s life in the saddle. Nelson went everywhere without complaint and was so in tune with Sierra the entire time. Which is always special for me to see – a horse perfectly in tune with his rider. Sierra’s mom is the ultimate horse show mom and now has her own horse since Sierra has gone off to college.
I wish Sierra the very best in her future endeavors and will always think fondly of our sunset San Luis Obispo Equine Photography session. Check out some of our images below. To book your own San Luis Equine session with me, click here.
