As a California Equine Photographer I BELIEVE CAPTURING IMAGES IS A FORM OF STORY TELLING.

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE STORIES of horses and the people that love them.

Paso Robles Family and Equine Session

Paso Robles Family and Equine Session with the Huntsberger’s

This Paso Robles Family and Equine Session proves what I love about the equine industry. What I love about the horse world, is that is it small. At any given show ground or tack store, you might run into someone who knows someone you know. I’ve know Mary Kate for years through “the horse world”. I once worked as a breeding manager for a cutting horse operation that neighbors her mom’s place. We have talked about doing family photos for her for a year or so now but horse shows, babies and life had us rescheduling and planning for future dates.

Well the date finally arrived and it was so lovely. Brian and Mary Kate make some of the cutest little human’s I’ve ever seen and the love of horses runs deep in this family. Their son Carter rides “George” a horse that has been in their family for years. First as Brian’s main ranch mount and now as Carter’s teacher and babysitter. A huge horse with an even bigger heart. George is also the son of the stallion Mylanta Lena who was the stallion on the ranch where I worked. See what I mean about “it’s a small (horsey) world”? Sister Perry has since inherited older brother’s pony Lefty and squealed with excitement every time she was near her pony. While she was a perfect angel for photo’s, I had a feeling little sister would much rather gallop off into the sunset on Lefty!

Wonderfully behaved horses and adorable children make this photographer’s heart do back flips so it was an absolute joy to capture these images for Mary Kate and Brian. Carter got to ride his “big horse” and drive his little John Deer tractor for the photoshoot so I’m pretty sure he was a happy camper. Just a few weeks ago, Carter made his show ring debut on Mary Kate’s cutting horse and I have the sneaky suspicion that mom might need to find herself a new horse here pretty quick. Take a peek at a few shots from my day with the lovely Huntsberger family!
