As a California Equine Photographer I BELIEVE CAPTURING IMAGES IS A FORM OF STORY TELLING.

HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE STORIES of horses and the people that love them.

Morro Bay Engagement Session

Shannon and Devin

This Morro Bay Engagement session was one for the books despite the fog and cold we faced! Shannon is a Central Coast local and grew up on a ranch in Morro Bay. Therefore it was natural that we shoot her engagement session close to home. We started at The Rock at Morro Bay and ended back on her family ranch.

Shannon and Devin met at the American Rodeo in Texas a few years ago. Shannon was there to cheer on her brother in law with the rest of her family. Devin works for the hat company Resistol, so while Shannon scoped out the booths, she also scoped out Devin. The rest is history, or so I’m told.

When we were talking about ways to make their Morro Bay Engagement session epic, a flowy red dress was mentioned. As a result I was completely on board and pretty excited about what we could create. Then when Shannon mentioned pizza, I knew it was going to be a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple.

For the end of their engagement session, we headed back to the ranch. It was a perfect way to showcase who Shannon and Devin are as a couple and I’m so excited for their wedding. Their wedding will take place at Pepper Tree Ranch in San Luis Obispo and it will be a great day for family and friends!

Since I think I’m funny, I included an “outtake” at the very end of the session images. Shannon’s sister Katie was the real MVP of the day and acted as the professional “dress fluffer” for Shannon’s gorgeous red dress.

I take a limited number of engagement sessions and wedding per year. To inquire on availability, please click here.
