Milton Menasco | Nipomo, Ca
Whenever I shoot with Milton Menasco, I can always expect casual high fashion equestrian vibes. Additionally, I can expect to feel like I’ve done 500 squats due to alllll the angles. She looks chic, and I wear yoga pants. Obviously, shoot concepts always stick with her iconic black, white, grey and neutral color scheme. Major bonus points if we can shoot on a cloudy day.
Luckily, the last time we shot together was riiiight before Covid-19 made the world go wonky. Obviously we were pumped about the cloudy weather as it paired perfectly with her neutral color scheme. We consider horse trailers to be wonderful tools as well as backgrounds. Likewise, a dapple grey pony is an excellent ambiance tool.
Our high fashion equestrian shoot concepts are often inspired by Gucci and other high end brands. High fashion, but make it barn babe chic. Ya know? Milton Menasco (aka Alli) often partners with brands such as Ariat, Free x Rein, and Celeris. Therefore, it’s always fun to see what she’ll pull out of her bag of tricks.
In this case, Alli had some awesome equestrian chic outfits and accessories for our shoot. Namely, some chic white breeches from Free Rein and some stunning white cowboy boots from Planet Cowboy. Furthermore, to finish off the look, a sweet nutty brown trench from Target was added. Pairing high with low fashion is always clutch and worth a try.
In addition to having fun on this shoot, I also learned multiple ways to wear a modern hip bag. In case you are wondering where you can snag one of the “Badass Horse Babe” pins Alli is wearing in one of the last photos, they are available on her site.
