California Equine Photographer – Recent Portrait Work
I love doing Equine Black Background Portraits. Without a doubt, I photograph many horse and rider sessions as a California Equine Photographer. However, not all can have this style of portrait due to location. Undoubtedly I truly feel like a sold sided covered barn aisle is clutch.
As a result, I offer Equine BBG Portraits separately as well as in my usual Horse and Rider sessions. My portrait package typically offers 5-7 images per horse. Therefore you have a good collection to choose from for equine art in your home. Especially if black background images are printed on canvas or metal. Obviously those two mediums have a clean and classic feel. Particularly with Equine portraiture.
In this case we used the clients garage to create the portraits. Naturally a solid sided barn would have been easier. Why? Simply because they tend to be darker. Therefore the barn naturally creates the look of the portrait. As a result, Photoshop completes the look. You may wonder why the entire thing can’t be done in Photoshop. The main reason is because it simply doesn’t look as natural that way in my personal opinion. For example, the sold sided structure helps create the shadows on the body that don’t look as seamless when artificially edited. Obviously there are many styles and ways these types of portraits are accomplished. This method is simply my style.
The images below are from two different sessions. Additionally, I offer a discount if multiple horses at the same location book for the same day. Therefore it’s a great way to share sessions with your barn mates!
