Ashley and Pretty Girl || Clovis, California

I ventured to Clovis, California for this equine photography session with Ashley and Pretty Girl. I met Ashley through some commercial work I did for Premier Ag in Paso Robles. Therefore, we both knew we were going to have fun at this session. Firstly, Ashley told me that Pretty Girl is not only her heart horse, but a horse that changed the entire course of her life. I had to meet this horse.

From the second I arrived, the love between Ashley and Pretty Girl was palpable. I am very lucky to do what I do for a living because I meet the neatest people and horses. Every owner loves their horse and has a wonderful relationship with them. It’s a beautiful thing to witness. However, the relationship between Ashley and Pretty Girl might be the most emotional relationship I’ve ever seen.

Sometimes life has the potential to take you down many paths. The choices we make define who we are. Meeting Pretty Girl took Ashley from a non-horse girl, to a full fledged crazy “horse girl”. Together, they learned the ropes of riding cow horse events. Pretty Girl had a lot to teach and Ashley was eager to learn. Clearly, they had great teachers. Fostering an innate love of horses is one of the best things a riding instructor can do in my humble opinion.

Ashley looked adorable and matched her outfit to Pretty Girl perfectly. It should be noted that she referenced the AQHA website for attire color suggestions and I think it worked great! That is a wonderful reference article for all clients looking to have a photo session with your horse.

Ashley’s sweet husband and hilarious dogs jumped in the frame for a few shots. Basically, we nailed their Christmas card for the year with the whole furry family! Travel time was well worth the drive for this Clovis, California equine photography session.
