Cal Poly Equine Senior Session

with Jordan and Good Times | Oyster Ridge, Santa Margarita

This Cal Poly Equine Senior Session with Jordan and Good Times was awesome! Especially since we shot at Oyster Ridge in Santa Margarita. Obviously, Oyster Ridge is a photo session favorite for me! Especially since the golden fields and vineyards create the dreamiest backdrops.

Without a doubt, 2020 has been a roller coaster of a year. Especially for graduating seniors. Despite all the hard work, graduation ceremonies were cancelled and celebrations denied. Because of this, I was determined to give Jordan an epic set of graduation photos.

Naturally, the weather had been providing some less than ideal situations leading up to our session. Furthermore, I always keep my eye on the weather since it strongly effects the outcome of the images. Consequently, a cold and overcast day will never look “warm”. Ultimately, Jordan was determined to have a golden sunset. In addition, I was set on giving her one.

So after a few re-schedules we picked the day. And wouldn’t you know it? Fog. Luckily, it was a light overcast. So we decided to proceed. Then towards the end of our session, the clouds parted. Clearly, giving us a golden glowing sunset that dreams are made of.

I’m so honored and humbled to have sessions with such wonderful seniors this year. Every single one was a horse girl after my own heart. Obviously able to roll with the punches of 2020. Most importantly, they all love their horses and couldn’t dream of a Cal Poly Equine Senior session without them!
