Los Alamos Ranch Family Session
The Branquinho Family Photo shoot near their Los Alamos ranch was such a joy to photograph. I consider myself lucky to have known Lindsay Branquinho for a few years now. Obviously, if you follow her social media at all you know what I’m talking about. Without a doubt, her sense of humor and kindness shine on her Instagram and popular blog. Together, Luke and Lindsay are raising some of the best little cowboys I’ve ever met. In fact, I tell her almost every time I see her that she needs to write a “Cowboy Raising Manual”. Undoubtedly, it would fly off the shelves.
The Branquinho brothers are tough to beat. The three boys are sweet, funny and some of the most capable people I’ve ever met. Just watching them expertly help Luke back up the truck to hook the trailer up was special. Without a doubt, they can hook up a trailer more proficiently than most adults. “Capable” is the word that kept popping into my mind as I watched them work at loading and unloading their horses, saddling and helping little brother Bear stay out of trouble.
Since we were also in the midst of the super model cowboy that is Luke Branquinho, we took his modeling advice to heart. Lindsay and I also had to sneak in a few looks for her clothing store Shop Favour before the family session began. Meanwhile, Luke was there to let us in on the subtle art of throwing hay off a feed truck for photos.
We kept the family session casual and un-posed on purpose. The idea was to show what a typical day in the life of a ranching family might look like. From checking cows, to feeding hay, and teaching the next generation how to be gentlemen and cowboys. Obviously, in this family being a gentleman and being a cowboy are one and the same.
