Ashley and Stretch at the Barn at Ellis Ranch
I was so thrilled when Ashley and I were able to schedule her Bakersfield equine Bridal Portraits at the Barn at Ellis Ranch. I have been wanting to do bridal portraits for quite some time. Bridal portraits are special in and of themselves. But they are even better when you can do them with your first love. In Ashley’s case, her first love is Stretch. Stretch is a paint gelding that Ashley has shown in All Around events since she was little. While Ashley lives in Texas now, Stretch is always her first stop when she is home in Bakersfield.
I had such a blast documenting Ashley and Eric’s wedding. But the horse girl in me was equally excited for her bridal portraits with her tall dark and handsome man. I hope to do more sessions such at this Bakersfield equine bridal portrait session.
The Barn at Ellis Ranch is a equine boarding facility turned wedding venue in Shafter, California. Its such a unique location and since it’s a horse facility, we had plenty of room to hang out with Ashley and Stretch. They book several weddings a year in their lovely barn and people get down with their bad selves during the warm evenings in Kern County. While Ashley donned her wedding gown, Stretch posed like the champ that he is.
My very favorite part of my job is documenting the undeniable bond between a girl and her horse. Its so lovely when I get to witness such a long-standing and deep relationship such as the one between Ashley and Stretch. Take a look at a few of the images we created together on a nice warm evening in Bakersfield, Ca. If you are interested in booking an event at the Barn at Ellis Ranch, check them out here.
